ZANSHIN KAI PHILOSOPHICAL CONCEPTS

The following Philosophical Concepts must be learnt and, more importantly, understood and reflected upon by all Zanshin Kai students throughout their careers as Karateka.

CONCEPT ONE
I will not criticise others until I myself am perfect and above criticism.

CONCEPT TWO
In instructing others, I will try to remember my own lack of understanding and teach with patience and determination to improve the ability of others and myself.

CONCEPT THREE
I may not understand all that I have been taught, yet I have been instructed, and I must strive to find the meaning of that instruction, no matter how long it may take, knowing that instruction can sometimes be absolute silence, a word, a sentence, or a loud shout.

CONCEPT FOUR
I live in this world which, in some way, no matter how insignificant, I have helped to create. I cannot help what is past, I can however, through my practice of the Martial Arts, modify my future actions to bring about the improvement of all things.

CONCEPT FIVE
You cannot find your way forward until you go back the way you came.
